Position Summary

The Research Associate will be responsible for preparation and characterizing of nanoparticle formulations using NanoAssemblrTM platform.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Prepare formulations such as liposomes, lipid nanoparticles, polymeric nanoparticles for small molecules, peptides, and nucleic acid delivery.
  • Perform formulation characterization and in vitro assays to determine the physicochemical, biological properties of nanoparticle formulations.
  • Participate in experimental design, problem-solving and technical discussions.
  • Prepares Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reports and technical presentations.
  • Assists in the day-to-day management of the lab; including ordering, shipping and receiving.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc. or MSc. in a Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences or relevant disciplines with at least 2 years of laboratory experience.
  • Experience in the preparation and characterization of nanoparticle formulations is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with standard molecular biology techniques such as ELISA, gel electrophoresis, qPCR, western blotting, etc. is an asset.
  • Must be a resourceful, proactive, detail-oriented individual.
  • The individual must be a team player who thrives in a dynamic environment with multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Experience in analytical assays, strong analytical and troubleshooting capability.
  • An ideal candidate is interested in growing their research skills and contributing to pharmaceutical, biotechnology product development.
